Endorsee Policies and Campaign Finance: September GMM Decisions

At the September 27, 2021 ProDane General Membership Meeting, the membership unanimously approved the updated Endorsee Policies.

Major changes from the previous policies regarding endorsed candidates and elected officials include adding a process for endorsement outside of the election cycle and encouraging the use of restorative measures to address concerns with endorsed elected officials.

The September GMM also endorsed the Restore Democracy Amendment proposed by Citizens Take Action, to reverse the damage done to democracy at all levels since the Citizens United U.S. Supreme Court decision. While ProDane generally doesn’t take a stance on national issues, the membership acknowledged the beneficial impact on local elections of such an amendment.
